Editorial Assistant Application
Kudzu is always looking for new Florida State undergraduate talent to incorporate into our staff. Our applications are due the first week of classes during drop/add so we can build a consistent team for the semester. We are no longer accepting applications for the spring semester, but will be reopening applications for fall at a later date. If you want to prepare or are interested, here are some instructions:
Email firstname.lastname@example.org with “Editorial Assistant Application” in the subject line. Attach a Microsoft Word document or PDF version of your résumé. Don’t concern yourself with fitting your credentials onto a single page. Be sure to include all of the following:
- Majors & Minors
- Year in school
- List of Relevant English/Art classes you’ve taken. Include:
- Professor’s Name
- Grade Received
- Semester class was taken
- Preferred Section. Please include your first choice and second choice of the four sections: Poetry, Fiction, Nonfiction, and Visual Art
- List relevant work experience. Be sure to mention any previous affiliation with The Kudzu Review.
*Relevant work experience can mean publishing experience. It can also entail experiences that demonstrate (transferable) skills or qualities that will benefit the publication. (E.g.General Skills: strong work ethic, time management skills, leadership skills; Technical Skills: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop)
- Provide an explanation of objectives and intent in working with The Kudzu Review: goals, desired experience, and potential benefit to the publication. *Minimum Word Count: 150
You’ll receive an email if/when you’ve been accepted.
*If you’re planning to take Kudzu for course credit and do not submit an application, you may be dropped from the class.
