The Kudzu Review

• We accept flash fiction, short stories, one-act scripts, comic strips/sequential art, and other experimental forms.
• We prefer pieces that are 1000-4000 words, but will read pieces with as little as 500 words and up to 5000 words.
• HARD SELLS:
  • Anything over 5000 words
  • Erotica
  • Anything with graphic sexual assault
• DO NOT SUBMIT:
  • More than three flash fiction pieces in one semester
  • Anything over 6000 words (or more than 20 pages)
  • Fan fiction, or any derivative works
  • A chapter or unfinished piece of a larger work
• Submissions must be double-spaced, in 12 pt. font, Times New Roman, and submitted as a Word/.docx file.
• We encourage you to include content warnings for our staff!

• We accept memoir, personal essays, and all forms of creative nonfiction.
• We prefer pieces that are 500-3000 words long, but will accept as little as 100 words and up to 4000 words.
• HARD SELLS:
  • Anything over 4000 words
  • Feature articles/narrative journalism
  • Blog posts
• DO NOT SUBMIT:
  • Research papers/critical essays of any kind
  • Hard news pieces
  • Press releases
  • Listicles

NONFICTION SUBMISSION FORM: CLICK HERE

• We accept all forms of poetry.
• Individual poems must not be longer than 3 pages in length.
• HARD SELLS:
  • Erotica
• DO NOT SUBMIT:
  • More than 3 poems in one semester
• Poems must be single-spaced and submitted as a Word/.docx file.
• If there is a special visual format to your poem, consider submitting it as a PDF.

• We accept all forms of traditional 2D artwork (painting, drawing, etc.), digital art, photography, and high quality images of 3D artwork. We also accept comic strips/sequential artwork.
• DO NOT SUBMIT:
  • More than 5 pieces in one semester
  • Fan art, or any derivative works
• Please submit PNGs ONLY. Avoid low-resolution images. Files should be at least 5MP or suitable for printing at 300DPI.
